If you’re selling a house, or even buying a house for that matter, you’ll want to be sure a few repairs are made first.
Leaky faucets are common and for the most part, they’re easy to fix. A lot of times these faucets just need new washers.
The best thing to do is to pull off the decorative cap on the faucet’s handle. Next, you’ll need to remove the handle screw. Once you pull off the handle you’ll need to use a wrench to unscrew the packing nut. Then, you can remove and replace the washer.
If the leak is coming from a compression faucet and leaking from the handle be sure to tighten the packing nut.
If water is dripping from the spout, you’ll need to replace the washer, but sometimes it will be caused from a corroded valve seat.
If replacing the washer doesn’t correct the problem, you’ll most likely need to look into replacing the valve seat.
